Branding in today’s economy is more important than ever. Getting your name out to the masses and creating top of the mind awareness is the most important thing you can do to not only stay afloat, but to thrive in our current economy. Nothing can create top of the mind awareness cheaper and faster than billboard advertising.
For today’s blog I’m going to share a story with you. Georgio’s Pizza has been a customer of ours for several years. They have utilized a rotary AdLite billboard campaign to reach customers in the Algonquin, Lake in the Hills and Crystal Lake area. There have been 2 main arteries in which we focused our billboard campaign, Ackman Rd and Algonquin Rd. Both heavily trafficked roads with a high concentration of potential customers for Georgio’s.
As the lead designer at Mixed Media I am responsible for creating all artwork for our AdLite billboard program. Through the tenure of Georgio’s billboard advertising we have gone through 4 different copy revisions for their AdLites, each one featuring an image of their deep dish pizza.
I used to live on the Crystal Lake/Lake in the Hills border. Ackman Rd and Algonquin Rd weren’t roads that I used every day, but I would use them roughly 4-5 times per month when traveling to the homes of friends or family. Every time I drove those roads and saw Georgio’s billboard, I would get “The Craving”. This is a pretty common term within my group of friends. You never know what could set it off, but the bottom line is once “The Craving” sets in, you’ll be calling around to try and organize a dinner at Georgio’s almost immediately and will keep doing so until you can get atleast 2-3 people to come with you. Sometimes when “The Craving” is too strong, you just have to order carryout, but I typically never had to wait more than a week to get a group up there with me.
Almost every business’s best prospect is their current customer. Getting all of your customers to come back one more time a month will go a LONG way towards increasing profits. Georgio’s Lake in the Hills Billboard Advertising was a very effective piece of their marketing strategy. If they work on the man that designed the artwork, just imagine what they can do for the general population!
